Jesus' Teachings
During this relatively short time, Jesus travelled through lands in and around Judea. He eventually became a minister, and spread the word of god, and his kingdom, and taught love, kindness, salvation and forgiveness. Essentially starting the religion itself, and its universal components. -

Jesus' Death
Jesus was eventually crucified by the romans, for acts of treason, by claiming to be the king of the Jews. He was eventually raised back to life by God, and would then last another 40 days before he was reunited with his Father. -

Spread of Christianity
After having a vision of a christian symbol, converted to christianity. This made Christianity legal, favoured, and recognized in the Roman Empire, allowing the religion to spread that many parts of the known world, including most of Europe. -

difference between cultural, and theological belief swell as politics, between the east and west, resulting in the separation between the two halves. This resulted in the formation of Eastern Orthodox, and the Roman Catholic Church -

First Crusade
Was laughed by Pope Urban II, to reclaim the Jerusalem, from Muslim control. The conquest was successful, and established crusader states in the Holy Land. This event lasted until 1099. -

Second crusade
the second crusade, was called to defend the crusader states against muslim attacks. However, it ended in failure, as the muslims captured Edessa. The 2nd crusade ended during 1149. -

Inquisition
In 1184, Pope III Lucius made it so bishops, and other members of the Catholic Church would eliminate heresy within they're designated areas/dioceses. Heresy, was simply a set of actions or doctrines that went against the established catholic belief. The inquisition used trials, and interrogations, to find, torture and persecute people suspected of heresy, these people would often be Jewish or Muslim. the inquisition would go on to happen for the following centuries. -

Third crusade
The third crusade was led by European monarchs such as Richard the Lionheart of England, Phillip II of France, and Frederick I Barbossa of Germany. It aimed to retake Jerusalem, after its fall to Saladin, the recapture failed. The third crusade ended in 1192. -
Oct 31, 1517
Rise of Protestantism
In 1517, October 31st, a German monk, and theologian named Martin Luther, Criticized the practices and principles of the Catholic Church, by nailing his ninety five theses on the door of a castle in Wittenberg, Germany. This essentially started the protestant reformation, and many different denominations formed to challenge the original ideas of the church.
