Zhu overtherw the Yuan Dynasty even though he was born a peasant. Ming means brilliant and that is what Zhu named his Dynasty. -

Qing means pure. The Qing was ruled by forigners. For 300 years the dynasty ruled the largest Chinese empire that ever existed. -
Sui Dynasty
This dynasty lasted only 40 years, but the first emperor, Yang Jian, established a basis of Chinese empire. -
Tang Dynasty
Li Yang uprose against the Sui Dynasty and claimed himself emporer and established the Tang Dynasty and it lasted for about 300 years. -
Song Dynasty
This was a military dynasty and it only lasted for about 50 years. Zhao Kuangyin took the throne and made the Song dynasty. -
