One day Hooke a British scientists looked into a slice of a cork with a microscope. He saw tiny honeycomb look alikes and then named them cells. This is how we got our name from cells. -

Anton Van leeuwenhoek improvised the first microscope and saw living organisms. -

In 1838 Matthias Schleiden said that all plant tissues are made of cells. -

In 1839 Theodre Schwann said all animal tissues are made of cells -

Carl revised the cell theory with the idea that cells are the basic unit of life. -

Rudolf concluded that all cells come from other cells. -
