    They reached the indians in Florida. The leader of De Vaca, Narvez, immediately forced the indians to tell them where the can find riches. They were tortured because they were saying that they knew of no gold.

    Narvez noticed that De Vaca was getting along with the indians. Narvez was afraid, and he decided to kill De Vaca and his men as a punishment for helping the indians. Narvez burned De Vaca and his men on stakes. The indians were sorrowful and were weeping.
