First time in Mesa

The first time I was in Mesa was for a vacation with my family. We came to visit my mom's sister and we stayed here for a week. We had an amazing time because we visited a lot of places. I remember thinking that it was an amazing city to live in and deep in my mind I was wishing to live here some day. 10 years later my family and I moved to Mesa.

I was turning 15 years old, which was a huge deal for my family. They made me a party to celebrate that I was not a girl anymore, I was becoming a woman. I bought some cute fishes and I put them in the middle of the tables so people could take them home. My dad made sure that everything was perfect and he had a lot of surprises for me at the party. That day I danced as if it were the last day of my life. It was an amazing day and all my family and friends were there for me.

New classes

When I barely got here I did not know how to speak in English. Instead of taking regular classes like the rest of the kids, I had to take some special classes that were going to help me with my English. It was really hard but I put a lot of effort on these classes. After one year they told me that I could go to regular classes like the rest of the kids because my English was better. This made me really happy and after that I decided that my goal was to prove my teachers that I could do it.

The love of my life

I saw him several times before but we never talked. Then I discovered he was in two of my classes and we became friends. A friend told me that it was his birthday so I bought him a little gift. After I gave him his gift, he got really happy and he told me his feelings towards me. I decided to tell him my feelings towards him and it was really cute because we did not know we had those feelings for each other. A couple of months later he became my boyfriend and I am really happy.

I have been playing basketball for more than 8 years and I've never seen anything like this before. In one of their games, a team of native players was forced to remove their hairstyle which was part of their tribe tradition. My teammates and I were very disappointed when we heard that, so we all decided to play one of our games with their hairstyle to show them our solidarity.

Family trip

This was the first time that my family and I were going to visit another state in the U.S. We went to Utah and it was the most amazing thing ever because we had a lot of time together. We met a lot of new people and it was snowing which was awesome. Even though we had an amazing time together, the best part was that my little brother got the things that he needed to get at the Shriner's hospital.

I came to U.S 2 years ago, and that same day was the last time I saw my grandparents. Unfortunately they could not come to visit us and my family and I could not go to visit them either. My dad decided to do something about it, so he helped them to get a passport. As soon as they got their passport they came to visit us and they stayed here for more than 2 weeks. The best part of everything was that they came during Christmas time and we enjoyed it as a family.

Snowman

My brother and I were born in a city in Mexico were it does not snow. We wanted to see snow and a family friend took us to a place were there was a lot of snow. He had a big truck so we decided to fill it will snow and then we made a snowman. We put some salt on it and we went back home with the snowman in the back of the truck. It was really funny to see all the people pointing at the snowman and their faces were amazing too. We had a lot of fun that day and we saw snow for the first time.

18 years old

Since I was little I have always wanted a surprise party. As my 18th birthday was getting closer my parents told me that they were not going to do anything for my birthday. I was little sad but then I was trying to understand their situation. 2 days before my birthday they told me to dress up because we were going to visit some friends. When I got there, everything was ready. All my friends and family were there. My brother and his friends played music for me. It was an amazing surprise.
