Can walk sideways.
Can jump with both feet.
Pushes large toys around floor. -
18 Months Old
Cognative:
Starts to work with shapes.
Remembers where things belong.
Identify simple pictures.
Attaches to toys/stuffed animals. -
19 Months Old
Physical:
Run without falling.
Squats easily.
Can sit on floor from a standing to sitting position.
Uses one hand more than the other. -
21 Months Old
Cognative:
Has about a 20 word vocab.
Responds to directions.
Like to color with crayons.
Can distinguish sounds and smells. -
22 Months Old
Physical:
Bounces and sways in simple dancing movements.
Can throw a ball into a basket.
Can play with modeling clay.
Throws ball over head instead of tossing. -
24 Months Old
Cognative:
Can identify familiar objects on the TV.
Recognizes pictures upside down.
Distinguishes between vertical and horizontal lines.
Curious about objects in the environment. -
25 Months Old
Physical:
Enjoys running but may collide with other people.
Plays on playgroud equipment.
Opens door by turning knobs.
Can soap hands and arms easily. -
28 Months Old
Cognative:
Likes to listen to music.
Likes to imitate drawings.
Recognizes familiar signs.
Interested in and understands childrens TV shows. -
30 Months Old
Physical:
Likes in be in constant motion.
Goes upstairs by alternating feet but goes down one at a time.
Jumps from elevated objects.
Walks on tip-toes. -
36 Months Old
Cognitive:
Tries to play new activities to discover how things work.
Recognizes self in photographs.
Vocabulary is about 900-1000 words.
Becomes more skilled in putting puzzle together.
