Teaching Mentor Rav Elie Kaunfer
As a newbee beginner learner at Hadar, Rav Elie was my first Talmud teacher. Rav Elie brought the Gemara to life for me. The Gemara, as a text that is unfriendly to beginners, with many barriers to entry, has the potential to be a frustrating first learning experience, something akin to hitting one's head against a brick wall. Yet, when he taught us to analyze the flow of a sugya he did so with all of his passion, enacting the back and forth of the sugya with his whole body engaged and active. -
