there was a lot of disease people were being wiped out. The colonies were in need of laborers. African Americans moved from the South to the North, Midwest, and West. -
The Missouri Compromise
This event balanced power of free and non-free states. Maine became a free state. Population 100000 was added to the Union as a slave. Slavery later became illegal.
