Her mother died which left her and her siblings with an abusive father. Their father later abandoned them. -
Starting School
Anne left Turksburg to attend the Perkins School for the Blind and received surgery to help her visions slightly. -
Valedictorian
She was selected to be the valedictorian for her class. -
Starts Teaching Job
Anne moves to Tuscombia, AL to begin working with Helen Keller who was deaf and blind. -
Teaching Helen Keller
Anne teaches Helen Keller 600 words, most of her multiplication tables, and how to read braille within six months. -
College for Helen
With the help of Anne, Helen attends Radcliffe and becomes the first deaf/bind to ever graduate college. -
Marriage
Anne marries John A. Macy. -
Marriage Separation
Anne and John split but do not divorce. -
Death
Anne died in Forest Hills, NY. Her ashes are in the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.
