Progressive Era
The progressivism was designed to return the control of the government to the people of the United States. Progressivism also restored economic opportunities and corrected injustices in americans lives. -
Imperialism (1898-1930)
Imperialism allowed the United States to expand their allies and knowledge overseas. This helped us push for world peace before WW1 and we became a world power because of it. -
16th Amendment
The sixteenth amendment gave congress the right to impose a federal income tax. The amendment was ratified by state legislatures on the 15th of Febuary in 1913. -
17th Amendment
The seventeenth amendment allowed voters to cast direct votes for U.S. senitors. This amendment was ratified the 8th of april in 1913. -
Start of World War 1
World War 1 was the first world war and made americans come together to support and fight for our country. The war caused us to defeat Germany and strengthen our allies. -
Red Scare
The red scare was when people started to fear communism a lot. Americans were afraid communism would pread across countries and spread into our nation. This was important because it made people start the thinkabout stopping communism wich had a big affect on our future. -

The great migration was the relocation of around six million blacks from the south to the north and west ciies. The blacks all mooved or migrated to get easy work in the big industry in citys where all the work was. -
The Stock Market Crash of 1929
The day the stock market crashed was also known as black thursday. This was a huge event in Untied States history because it led to the great depression, the hardest past time of our cuntry. -

President Roosevelt made the new deal programs to get or nation out of the great depression and back on track to suceed. The new deal made many easy jobs and was to rebuild our economy. Some still exsits today. -
Americans Practice Isolationism (1937-1945)
Americans practiced isolationism because they did not want to get involved with the conflict in Europe and Asia. They did this because they did not want to go through depression and the losses we faced during and after WW1. -
US Joined WW2 (1941-1945)
The United States joined the second world war as a retaliation. The joining of the war changed all of americans lives because now everything they could do to support the war they did. Our nation came together to make sure our materials went to the war effort first. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was very important event because it caused the United States to join conflict in the war. Japaneese fighter planes attacked our military base in pearl harbor and in return the US fought back. -
Atomic Bomb Droppings
The United States dropped bombs on Japan as a reaction to Pearl Harbor. This was important because it was our first conflict to get us into world war 2. -
Cold War (1947-1989)
The cold war was a long fought battle and helped the US to strengthen its bonds with our allies. It was not only the right thing to do but we also stood up for democracy and tried to contain comunnism. -
NATO was astablished
Eleven nations including us sighned a pact to basically develope a mutual defence. This was important because it allowed us to become closer with our allies. -
Abolishment of the Soviet Union
The abolishment of the soviet union and the natzis with hitler out of europe was importent. It was important because it ended the cold war and declared the US victory.
