Salva is 17 and now the Ethiopian gov. was shouting and shooting and must cross the Gilo river.1991 -
1992 Ethiopia Sudan and Kenya
Salva was crossing the river and a boy held him underwater and potentially saved his life as well as, a leader to the group of boys and organizing part time work to travel to Kenya and it took a year and a half. Also, he remembered his family and how old Kuol is now that Salva has been gone that he is a teenager. Also, more than twelve hundred boy arrived safely in Kenya. -

Salva shows perseverance when he is going to meet his new family in Rochester New York. He remembered about his family about the Coca Cola and his new family. -

Salva has found his father through via e-mail with his cousin going to visit him. However planning all of this was frustrating. -
Sudan and Rochester, New York, 2003-2007
Salva went to meet his father in Sudan and his mother is at their village and his father thought Salva was dead for sure but he had hope. -

Salva and the group buried Uncle and now in Itaga refugee camps in Ethiopia. -
