American Revolution Unit will last 4 weeks -
Sequence of Events That Led to American Revolution
Students will create a timeline that illustrates the events that led to the American Revolution. Events include: The French and Indian War, The Boston Massacare, Stamp Acts, Intolerable Acts, and the Boston Tea Party. This actvity will begin on April 13, 2015 and will completed on April 18, 2015. The activity will last a total of 5 school days. -
Loyalists vs. Patriots
Students will compare and contrast Loyalists and Patriots by using a thinking map. Students will create a double bubble map to show the similarities and diferences of loyalists and patritots. This activity will begin on April 20, 2015 and conclude on April 24, 2015. The activity will last a total of 5 school days. -
Battles of the American Revoluiton
Students will use a thinking map to describe different battles of the American Revolution. Students will use the thinking map to describe each battle and tell which side won the battle. American Revolution battles include: Lexinton, Concord, Bunker Hill, and Yorktown This activity will begin on April 27, 2015 and conclude on May 1, 2015. The activity will last a total of 5 school days. -
Heroes of the American Revolution
Students wiil use a thinking map to describe different people that were important to the American Revoluiton. Some examples are: James Armstead, Geroge Washington, Phillis Wheatley, Molly Pitcher, and Benjamin Franklin. This activity will last 5 school days. It will begin on May 5, 2015 and conclude on May 8, 2015. -
Last Day of American Revolution Unit
Final Day of the American Revolution Unit. All assignments are due on May 11, 2015. -
American Revolution Formal Assessment
Students will use all the information gathered during the 4 week unit on the American Revolution to create a newspaper about the American Revolution. Students will be given a template of the newpaper through the classroom website so that they can create their own newspaper. Formal assessment will take 2 computer lab sessions.
