The Doctrine stated that all European interference in North or South America would be considered an act of aggresion, and that the United States would not interefere with European affairs. -

General Grant of the Union army meets General Lee of the Confederate army at Appomattox Courthouse. They discussed the surrender of the confederate army. -

Nebraska joined after the American Civil War. Platte sections in Nebraska were hostile to each other and bitter strife resulted. -

Fifteenth Amendment Passed
Fifteenth Amendment prohibits each government in the United States from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's race, color, or previous condition of servitude, example slavery. -
Civil Right Act of 1875
This act was to inforce reconstruction by prohibiting discrimination by hotels and other businesses serving the public. This act did not work and led to more racism and corruption when it came to voting. This is important because it played a part in discrimination. -
