Cabot was hiered by King Henry 7th to find a shorter route to Indies. He also landed in North America and claimed the lande for England. when he got back to England he told the king about all the fishes. After the great discovery, the english went to North America Every summer, for the fish. -

Jacque Cartier's First Voyage
Cartier sailed to North America, by this time they already knew that it was a new land. He landed in the Gaspe Peninsula and claimed the Golf of St. Lawrence for France. -

Jacque Cartier's Second Voyage
Cartier was the first European to explore the interior of Canada. They sailed up the St. Lawrence River to present time Montreal. -
May 23, 1541
Jacque Cartier's Third Voyage
This time Cartier went to the new land, with plans to create a new permanent settlement. They could have never imagined how hard the winters would be. The settlement only lasted until 1543. -
King Henry 4th of France plans
King Henry 4th completed his plans for the Fur Trade and to Colonize North America. -

Pierre Du Gua's settlement moved
The french settlement moved and founded Port-Royal, also known as Acadia. Acadia was better placed and easier to defend. -

Champlain founded the settlement by St. Lawrence. He named it Quebec. -
French helped defeat the Iroquois
Champlain helped his first nation friends, the Algunquin and Huron defeat the Iroquois. He killed two of their leader, that made the Iroquois the french's mortal enemies. -
Henry Hudson's exploration for North Passage Way
Hudson sailed into Hudson Bay. He was looking for the North Passage way to get to Asia. Asia held a lot of riches that the English knew about, they did not acknowledge that North America held untouched potentials. -

The French bought Quebec, but the English had destroed it before handing it back. The French had to re-born Quebec. -
Iroquois Conquest
The Iroquois conquered Huronia and killed most French Missionaries in Huronia. Algonquin and Huron nations fleaded leaving the French by them selves. The Iroquis invreased their attacts for the folowing ten years. The Fur Trade was destroyed. -
Royal Province
King Louis 14th made New France a Royal Province. He sent troupes to defend the new province. He also knew that he needed to implement farming, so he implemented the seigneurial system. He gave the troupes land; they brought farmers from France to work their land. -
Hudson's Bay Company
The English made peace with the First Nations around them. With their alliences they were able to oppen the Hudson Bay's Fur-Trading Company. -
Louis Jolliet and Jacques Marquette
Louis Jolliet was a French-Canadian fur trader and Jacques Marquette a French missionary also Louis Jolliet's father, sailed down the Missisippi River. -
Wars between French and English
The French and the English had four wars in 74 years. They fought for different rights and problems that they were not able to discuse and find a solution for. The wars lead the the United Kingdom's Conquest of New France. -
Pierre Gaultier de Varennes exploration
Varennes travelled from Montreal to present time Saskatchewan, establishing a chain of Fur-Trading posts. Since the French did not have their alliances they were forced to explore the rest of the un-known land. -
