Mosquitos carry Zika
Aedes Mosquitos that carried other diseases were now a carrier of the Zika virus and began to transmit the disease through it's bite and saliva. -

French Polynesia outbreak
During this specific outbreak, two sets of mothers and their newborns were infected with Zika through the delivery process (transplacental transmission). This was the first case involving this mode of transmission. -
First blood transfusion case
During the French Polynesian outbreak, over 1,500 blood donors tested positive for Zika, which concluded that blood transfusion is another mode of transmission. -

Brazil
