League of Nations Founded
Created after WWI & 1st propsed by President Woodrow Wilson, The League of Nations was an international organization designed for resolving international disputes and was part of Wilsons Fourteen Points plan for an equitable peace in Europe, the United States never became a member. -
Signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
A peace treaty signed at the end of World War I. It ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed five years, to the date, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It was 15 parts and 440 articles reassigned German boundaries and assigned liability for reparations. -
Adolf Hitler becomes leader of National Socialist (Nazi) Party.
HItler became the leader of the National Socialist Party the same it year it was founded. -
Germany joined the League of Nations
Germay joined the League of Nations in 1926 and withdrew in 1933. -
Franklin D. Roosevelt
F.D.R becomes the 32nd President of the U.S. in the midst of the Great Depression. He brought hope as he promised to the American people and in he Inaugural address he stated, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." -
Adolf HItler becomes Chancellor of Germany
President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler Chancellor of Germany. This marks an untimely and crucial turning point for the world. -
Adolf Hitler becomes Fuhrer of Germany
German President Paul von Hindenburg dies of lung cancer. Adolf Hitler becomes President. Shortly after, Hitler will abolish the office of President and declar himself Fuhrer of Germany in addition to Chancellor. Hitler is now in complete control of Germany. -
Adolf Hitler violates Treaty of Versailles
Adolf Hitler violaes the military limitations set by the Treaty of Versailles, Part V of the Treaty of Versailles, and signed by Germany back in 1919 after its defeat in World War I. Breaking the Treaty was an insult to Germany's former World War I enemies, France and Great Britain. -

Japan invades China, initiating World War II in the Pacific. -
Munich Agreement
Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and France sign the Munich agreement which forces the Czechoslovak to cede the Sudetenland, including Czechoslovak military defense positions, to Nazi Germany. This would build a larger defense for Adolf Hitler. -
Germany invades Poland
Germany invades Poland, by land and air, beginning World War II. This invasion was the first look on how Adolf Hitler intended to wage this war, it would later be known as the “blitzkrieg” strategy. -
France & Great Britain declare war on Germany
France & Great Britain, both allies of Poland, declare war on Germany in an effort to protect Poland's borders. -
Adolf HItler commits suicide
Adolf Hitler commits suicide as he knows Germany has lost the war. It is said that Adolf Hitler and his wife, Eva Braun, ingested cyanide capsules. In addition to the cyanide capsule, Adolf Hitler also shot himself with his service pistol. -
The United States drops an atomic bomb on Nagasaki
This is the second bomb dropped on Japan by the U.S., resulting in Japans unconditional surrender. -
End of World War II
Japan formally surrenders to US General Douglass MacArthur and the Allies, ending World War II.
