A conflict on the Marco-Polobridge in Peking lead to the Japanese war. The Japanese invaded China and captured nanking, they were in control of northern China. The Japanese wanted to invade China and wanted their resources. There were over 3 million Japanese troops deployed. Ended September 9, 1945.

Rape of Nanking
The Rape of Nanking was the mass murder of civilians and soldiers in China's capital by the Japanese Imperial Army. The Japanese wanted to conquer China.This event killed over 300,000 of the 600,000 people in the city. Ended in the beginning of Febuary, 1938

German Blitzkrieg
German Blitzkreig was a military tactic which uses vehicular and mobile forces to swiftly attack and surprise the enemy resulting in short battles.The german's used this tactic to because it preserve more German militia lives and it was an effecient way to attack their enemys. Blitzkrieg warfare crippled enemy forces because they weren't prepared for the attacks and it happened so fast. Ended June 25, 1940

Fall of Paris
After invade Poland, Belgium, and Holland the Nazis headed for France. The attack on France was planned with Bltzkrieg warfare, it was fast and unexpected. Hiter did this to many countries wanting to concuer Europe. This invasion caused Paris to fall and left France under German control. Ended June 25, 1940

Operation Barbarossa
Operation Barbarossa was the codename for the German invasion of Russia. The Germans wanted to overthrow Stalin and were able to advance 50 miles the first day and continued through russia. It went well for the Germans at first but they couldn't get to the Capital. The Russians suffered over 500,000 casualties but were still able to defend the capital. Ended January 7, 1942.

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor was US navy base in Hawaii. On December 7, 1941, Japanese fighter pilots flew from Japan to Pearl Harbor before 8 am to attack the naval base. The Japanese wanted to expand and take over to import market. Hundreds of suicide pilots drove their plans into over 300 planes, 12 navy vessels, and 8 battleships. Killed over 2,000 American soldiers.

The Wannsee conference was a meeting held in Berlin with 15 high ranking Nazi officials. They discussed the 'Final Solution' to exterminate all jews. This meeting presented more ideas to the Nazis to exterminate the Jews.

Japanese Internment
Japanese internment was the captivity of all American citizens with Japanese ancestery in the US. The US saw a clear and present danger and was scared of the possibilty of a Japanese invasion. This action resulted in the captivity of over 120,000 Japnese-Americans. Ended December 31, 1945.

Battle of Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad was the sucessful Soviet defense of Stalingrad. The USSR was defending Stalingrad from the Germans during their invasion. This battle of Stalingrad was the turning point of the war and resulted in over 2 million casualties including both military and civialians. Ended February 2,1943.

Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
The Warsaw Ghetto uprising was the revolt of Nazis trying to rid the Jewish population during the Holocaust. This resistence was brought on from the Jews fighting for their freedom from the Nazis. This resistence didn't stop the Nazis but showed that Jewish people were trying to fight it. The Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto were able to get a hold of some guns a resisted the Nazis with froce for a while. Ended May 16, 1943.

D-Day was the Largest seaborn invasion in history. This invasion consisted of over 150,000 Allied troops which stromed the beaches of Normandy resulting in thousands of death. This invasion pushed Germany closer to surrendering.

Liberation of Concentration Camps
The Liberation of the concentration camps was the Allied forces going into the Nazis camps and taking them over freeing the Jews from their captivity. The Allied forces wanted to stop this Nazi genocide. This resulted in getting closer to stopping the Germans and freedom returnd to the captured Jews. Ended April 11, 1945.

The battle of the Bulge was the battle where Hitler attempted to split the allied forces in northeast Europe. Hitler wanted to get armed forces to the city of Bastogne to cripple the Allied forces defense. The sucess of thisnvasion brought more power to Germany ansd weakened the Allied forces. Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
