  • Japanese Invasion of China

    Known as the "Second Sino-Japanese War" was the result of a decade long conflict between the Japanese aim to conquer China's raw materials. The war was one of the deadlies wars for China during the 20th century.
  • Rape of Nanking

    More commonly known as the Nanking Massacre, was a six week long episode of mass murder and rape commited by the Japanese troops towards the Nanking people during the Second Sino-Japanese War. During this six weeks long period, many civilians as well as soliders were brutally murdered by the Imperial Japanese Army as well as raped. The death toll was estimated to be over 200,000 Chinese..
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht also refered to my many other names such as "The NIght of Broken Glass" was a terrifiying night for the Jewish race of Nazi Germany. The nickname "Night of The Broken Glass" comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets of the stores and homes that were ivaded by the Nazi Party.
    About 90 Jewish were killed in the event and 300 were captured and brought to concentration camps.
  • Germany Invades Poland

    Under of orders of their leader Adolf Hitler the German Army devised to conquer Poland. Adolf Hitler knew that aquiring Poland would take him one step closer to gaining control of europe. He order the Building of thousnads of Tanks, Aircrafts and Artillery to fight the Polish army.
    The end result was an embrassing defeat for the Polish army, over 66,000 polish soliders were killed and 200,000 were injured.
  • Germany Bitzkreg

    Known as the Lightling War, was a method fighting used during 1939-1940 in Germany. The Method won germany many stunnign victories such as The Invasion of Poland and The Invasion of France.
    The method requires a large concentration of offensive weapons such as tanks, planes and artillery to breach the opponents defenses allowing entry for german forces.
  • Battle of Britian

    Occuring after the Invasion of Poland ended, Germany focused their attention on conquering Great Britian the heart of the British Empire.Although greatly outpowered by German forces Great Britian had a very capable intelligence able to stand their ground despict the constant attack from Germany. Britian Aided by its intelligence network and growing proficiency with radar which detected incoming waves of German aircraft over the Channel.
  • Operation Barbarosa

    After all of Germany's success, Hitler looked into taking over the Soviet Union.Operation Barbarosa was a complicated process that started with alot of misinformation for the Soviet Union.
    Like most other countries the Soviet Union was greatly overpowered by the German quantitiy of planes and tanks, however Joseph Stalin had the larger amount of people. The battle ended with the lost of the German forces, On Germany's side over 28,000 mens die a month.
  • The Attack on Pearl Harbor

    The Attack on Pearl Harbor was an event that signified the beginning of the United States become directly involved in WWII. A suprise military strike was launched from the Japanese military targeting US naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
    The attack was intended to keep the US from being able to become involved with the Japanese by destroying the US fleet in one crushing blow however its effect were the complete oppisite. US declared war on the Japanese and entered WWII with the Allied Powers
  • Bataan Death March

    The Bataan Death March is a forced transfer for Japanese Army to carry over 60,000 prisionares of war prior to the Battle of Baatan. The march is described to be tourtorious, as many prisionars and civilians were abused and murdered.
  • Battle of Midway

    Japanese admiral Isoruku Yamamoto attempted to capture US base on Midway Island. Admiral Yamamoto believed that the Japanese Air Force would be able to destory US naval base in Pearl Harbor. The US marine could not defend themselves properly from the attacks causing extensive damage.
  • Operation Stalinggrad

    Also known as Battle of Stalingrad is one of the major battles that took place in Stalingrad during WWII. Battle of Stalingrad last battle that ended the dispute between Germany and the Soviet Union. And ended with the Soviet Union in the Winning side and a dramatic lost for the Germans. (closely marks the end of Operation Barbarosa)
  • D-DAY

    This day was the day of the Normandy Invasion, during the day Allied forces rallied their forces to defeat Germany, The invasion began with an ariborne assualt of 24,000 brititsh, US and Canadian troops. At the end of the day, not all objectives were meet but regardless the operation was precieved as a sucess.
  • Warsaw Gettho Uprising

    The Warsaw Gettho Uprising was intended by the jews to stop the transfer to concentration camps. Instead it led to fighting between the Jewish military and the German military, The Germans used posion gas to kill off the uprisers and caputred those who tried to escape. About 100 mens and Womens escaped into seweges and manage to survive.
  • Operation Thunderclap

    Operation thunderclap was suppose to have taken action during this time of the year but was canceled. The plan envisaged a massive attack on Berlin in the belief that would cause 220,000 casualties with 110,000. It was reconsidered to take place in 1945 but was again canceled instead constant but smaller attacks ocured in its place.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Okinawa was the perfect base to launch a military assualt on Japan, offering a execellent harbor, airfeild and troop staging facilities. This base gained the attention of General Douglas McArthur but was also well-defended, Gaining control of the base was a 82 day struggle. Americans had 49,000 in casualties of whom 12,520 died. More than 110,000 Japanese were killed on the island.
  • Liberation of Concentration Camps

    This Day Allied powers set freed many Jewish Concentration Camps across Germany freeing over 80,000 prisionars. Along the concentration camps they discovered hundreds of thousands of women and mens clothing. and human hair. And thousands Dead bodies that were piled on top of one another.
  • VE day

    VE stands for Victory in Europe, Marks the formal end of Hitlers war, In Britian, Churchill announced the victory to a crowd with a short speech. However uneasyness still lingered, the fighting in the Pacific has not calmed and many had to rebuild their lives from the ruins.

    Many were proud to have survived although the victory seemed for a while unreal.
  • Dropping of the Atomic Bombs

    The first dropping of the atomic bomb occured in Hiroshima, Japan by the US airforce. The bomb killed off over 200,000 civilians however japan still did not surrender.

    Standing for Victory over Japan day. The public celebrated strongly in support for this day, Large crowds gathered in Britian to cheer King George VI and his queen en route to Westminster for the opening of Parliment.
