Japanese Invasion of China
The Japanese Invasion of China improved the fragmentation of the Chinese Territories as Japan grew. Puyi was the last emperor of Japan, which Puyi helped to installed puppet regimes. The Chinese created a nationalist government with Japan watching in 1940. Picture Citation:

The Rape of Nanking
About 300,000- 600,000 people were killed in the Massacre. This became the worst event during WWII and lasted six weeks. All of this happened because Japan kept bragging that they could beat China. In November they finally beat China. But that was not the end for the Japanese. They spared not even pregnant women, they beat people, there was stabbings, and even large amount of burning.

Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
Also known as the German-Soviet Union Nonaggression Pact. This stated that the two countries involved (Germany and the Soviet Union) agreed to combine their military and we taking countries over together and splitting them. Germany Invades Poland
Hitler invades from the air and on land. This form of war is called blitzkrieg. This happened after Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, signed the Nonaggression Pact. This agreement stated that Hitler was no longer going to invade countries and that him and Joseph Stalin were going to do things together in agreement. Great Britain responded to this with bombs and violence.

Blitzkrieg
Blitzkrieg means Lighting War. This tactic was used to create disorder and confusion. The enemy always stayed on the move attacking different locations of a territory. This was used by Hitler and after this happened the Treaty of Versailles was signed. This stated that Germany was to take all blame for WWII and they needed to pay for all of the damage to the other countries.

The Fall of Paris
German troops invade Paris. Controlling everything including them staying in their house at 8 p.m.. The people of Paris were interrogated as if they were spies.

Operation Barbarossa
German soldiers attempt to take over the Soviet Union breaking the Nonaggression Pact that Hitler and Stalin had created. Stalin was very unhappy about this invasion. "Barbarossa was the crucial turning point in World War II" (http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/operation-barbarossa).

Pearl Harbor
Many Japanese fighter planes flew over Pearl Harbor (a Naval Base in Hawaii) and dropped bombs and killed many, many people. Japan wanted to go into war with the U.S. but neither country budged in making a war happen. More than 300 Japanese airplanes were used in the attack. About 2,500 men were killed and more than 1,000 men were wounded through the attack.

Wannsee Conference
This meeting was to figure out what to do with the remaining Jews. Months after this, the gas chambers were invented. This was for the Jews who took much longer to die (probably more or less the children). This could kill about 1,000 people per day. This proved to be a good way to kill a lot of people at once. These chambers became evidence later on for the Nuremberg Trials.

Baatan
A horrible, long journey through the Baatan Peninsula with over 75, 000 Filipino and American troops, marching over 65 miles to a death camp. Battle of Midway
This was to destroy anyone who escaped Pearl Harbor. The ships, anything the American troops tried to get away in. were bombed. Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
The Jews (400,000 of them) in the ghetto revolted against the death camps. Anyone who was caught leaving was shot on the spot. D-Day
German soldiers got confused. Germans lost the battle but there were many casualties and deaths. "The Normandy invasion began to turn the tide against the Nazis. VE-Day

Liberation
One of the most well- known and largest concentration camps was Auschwitz. This is where the Nazis took Jews, who had no idea what they were getting into, and died. Here more than 1 million people died. They were gassed, burned, starved, anything that caused suffering. Hitler hoped to exterminate the Jews and isolate them. The "Perfect Person" had blue eyes, blonde hair and German.

Hiroshima
In 1945, a 5 ton bomb was dropped on the Japanese city, Hiroshima, by American troops. 80,000 people died. over 35,000 were injured. This caused a Cold War between America and Japan. VJ Day
Japan was afraid of being bombed. So Japan surrendered. This was also the day of the famous kiss in NYC (Times Square). Battle of the Bulge
Hitler tried to take over another country. He attempted to use blitzkrieg.
