Nazi's began stating Germany's regime as the "Third Reich" which is also known as the third empire. This was of importance because it made Germany a totalitarian state and demolished the Weimar Republic, which was a parliamentary democracy. -

This invasion included the involvement of Germany and the Soviet Union. Germany used blitzkrieg military tactics that bewildered Poland while the Soviet Union invaded the Eastern side. This event resulted with Great Britain and France declaring war on Germany and is crucial to this time period because it initiated WWII and disrupted peace in Europe. -

This is a major event throughout history. The Holocaust was when Nazi Germany murdered millions of people, mainly Jewish individuals, due to the target of race, religion, or overall beliefs. It's important because it is a extreme form of racism, hatred, and also represents abusive authoritative power. -
Pearl Harbor
At Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, the Japanese formulated an unknown attack on the United States naval base. This attack resulted in major U.S soldier casualties and caused them to fully enter WWII. This was the beginning of America's involvement in the war. -
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was an extreme naval battle between Japan and the United States. During this battle, the U.S successfully targeted and weakened the Japanese fleet with an attack. This is an important part of WWII because it decreased Japanese expansion and strengthened the Allied sides naval power. -
Battle of Stalingrad
This battle was between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union over territorial control of Stalingrad in Russia. Throughout the battle, it ended with Germany being defeated and forced the surrender. This was important because it marked a time where Germany was weakened and sparked the beginning of the Soviet Unions expansion towards the west. -
D-Day Invasion
The D-Day Invasion was an arrangement of a plan led by the Allied to invade the Western front of Germany occurring on the beaches of Normandy, France. This is important during the war because it was an extensive naval battle and initiated the liberation of Europe out of Nazi Germany's rule. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge was the last German offensive on the Western front in WWII. During this battle, Germany was hoping to divide the Allied forces and conquer the Antwerp port. This plan failed tremendously with severe winter temperatures that caused high casualties on each side and it resulted in Germany’s weakening with lack of soldiers, necessary resources and motivation to fight leading closer to the end of the war. -
Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were caused by the United States releasing nuclear bombs over Japanese cities creating an area of mass destruction and hundreds of thousands of deaths due to the bombs or radiation. This event is important because it was a major part of Japanese surrender and the first use of atomic bombs that represented U.S. power. -

The Japanese surrender was a result of the catastrophic atomic bombing and also the Soviet Union initiating a war towards Japan. The emperor of Japan announced Japan’s surrender, which ended World War II all together. This is important because with the aftermath of the conflicts during WWII, it led to the beginning of the world wide involvement to reconstruct Europe and the creation of the United Nations. -
Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain occurred when the Royal Air Force protected Great Britain from the constant attacks of the German Luftwaffe. It was important because it was a defeat of Nazi Germany and intercepted to avoid Germany’s invasion into Britain. This benefited because Great Britain continued to be a part of the Allied forces that helped overcome Hitler’s Nazi Germany.
