Emperor Puyi was emperor of China until the Nationaists of China took over in the Revolution and caputred the Forbidden City. He was the last, ever, emperor of the Qing dynasty but was then kicked out of his palace. -
World War I begins as Austria declares war of Serbia
Franz Ferdinand, the crown prince of Austria-HungaryWorld War I begins as Austria declares war of Serbia took a trip to Serbia and the Members of the black hand tried to assisnate him but the bomb missed. The victims of the bomb where hospitalized so he went to go see them but got lost. A 19 year olf scout of the Black Hand went up to the car and killed him. Outraged Austria-Hunagry listed a series of demands that Serbia could never meet so theu declared war on Serbia. -
U.S. Enters the war
In 1917 the U.S. officially enters the war. This was mainly becuase of the Zimmerman telegram. This was a telegram from Germany to Mexico saying that if they joined germany and helped them then they would give them Arizona, Texas and other lost Territorries. This was an act of agression towards the United States so the United States Entered the War. -
Armistice signed as Allies defeat Central Powers
In 1918 at the Western front the Allied powers signs an armistice with the Central Powers. This was when Germany tried to launch one last attack on France but they were met with 2 million fresh american troops as well as more French troops. The troops of Germany actually wanted to stop so they signed an armistice on a trin to "cease fire". -
Gandhi leads Indian camapaign of civil disobedience
Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power. Gandi lead a protest doing just this. This is one of many ways people rebelled against rules by a goverment that is deemed unfair by the people. Gandhi lead a NON-VIOLENT civil disobendeince campaign in India in 1920. -
Mustafa Kemal transforms Turkey into Republic
Mustafa Attaturk was a Turkish army officer in the Ottoman military, revolutionary statesman, and the first President of Turkey. Atatürk (meaning "Father of the Turks"), was granted to him in 1934 and forbidden to any other person by the Turkish parliament. The Ottomon Empire became Turkey. He led the Turkish national movement in the Turkish War of Independence in order to make Turkey a Republic. -
Mao Zedong heads Long March
The Long March was a military retreat undertaken by the Red Army of the Communist Party of China led by Mao Zedong. There was not just one Long March but a series of marches as various Communist armies in the south escaped to the north and west. The Communists, under the eventual command of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai, escaped in a circling retreat to the west and north, which reportedly traversed over 9,000 kilometers
