    Franz Ferdinand Assassination
    Franz Ferdinand was the leader of Austria Hungary and was visiting the country of Sarajevo with his family. Which visiting there hIm and his family were assassinated by a man named Gavrilo Princip. Gavrilo who gunned them all down him while driving around the country. After this Austria Hungary declared war on Sarajevo, but Sarajevo was in alliance with Germany so they declared war on Austria Hungary, this created a domino affect until 30 nations were involved and this started WWI.
  • Alliances Declare War

    Alliances Declare War
    There were two alliances, the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. And because of the assassination Germany declares war on Russia, France and Belgium. Great Britain then declares war on Germany, and Austria-Hungary declares war on Russia. France and Britain also declare war on Austria-Hungary. Japan joins in and also declares war on Germany. Austria-Hungary declares war on Belgium. Lastly, the United States declares its neutrality and doesn’t get involved.

    The Treaty of Versailles was the treaty that ended World War I. Germany was basically blamed for the cause of the war and was stripped of its overseas colonies. Germany’s military capabilities were severely restricted, and it was required to pay war reparations to the Allied countries.
