Japanese invasion of China
Japan wanted natural resources and saw an obvious weakness and invaded Manchuria. It was turned into a nominally independent state called Manchukuo, but the Chinese Emperor who ruled it was a person that listened to the Japanese. They used the emperor to make the people think that they were being ruled by one of ther e own people. The japanese quickly captured all the main chinese ports, and industrial centewrs. -
Germany's invasion of Poland
1.5 million German troops invaded Poland. German Blitzkrieg
Germans used blitzkrieg on the Netherlands and Belgium. The Blitzkrieg moved really fast. In England, the invasion forced Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain to resign, to be replaced by Winston Churchill. Pearl Harbor
Alot of Japanese fighter planes attacked the american naval base. The attack lasted about 2 hours. The Japanese destroyed 20 naval vessels, including 8 big battelships. The attak on Pearl harbor was a surprized so nobody was rady for it . The Japanese plan was to destroy the Pacific fleet. -
Wannsee Conference
Nazi officals meet to discuss the final details about the jews. Hitler was one of the people in the meeting. Along with the chief of the Central Office of jewish emigration. They wanted to devise a plan that would render a final solution to the jewish question. One of the solutions were to include mass sterilization and deportation to the island of Madagascar -
Operation Gomorrah
At night Britch bombers bombed Hamburg Germany while in the day time Americans bombed it. This was also known as blitz week. Britiasn hadd suffered alot of deaths. The tables were starting to turn. More than 1,500 German civilians were killed in that first British raid. -

The proposal was to bomb the eastern most cities of Germany. it was also to prove a point to th ecitizens. ompared to most other German cities the air raid precautions and the range of air raid shelters available were relatively poor. -

It was defended by roughly 23,000 Japanese army and navy troops, who fought from an elaborate network of caves, dugouts, tunnels and underground installations.
