The Treaty of Versailles was the treaty signed by the allies and the Germans that formally ended World War 1. France and Britain wanted to punish and limits Germany's ability to rebuilt into a major power again. well the United States wanted to create long lasting peace through the fourteen points. like the creation of the league of nations. lastly Germany wanted a fair peace treaty. but the Treaty was not fair and blamed the Germans for the war this created resentment for the treaty. -

The March on Rome is the insurrection by which Benito Mussolini come to power in Italy. this event mark the beginning of fascist rule in Italy. although later the March on Rome is portrayed as a conquest it was more of a transfer on power from the king of Italy and the parliamentary system into the hands of Mussolini and the fascists party. -

France not wanting a another true world war held their defensive position on the Maginot line, line of forts on the France, Germany order. instead of attacking the Maginot line the Germany using the blitzkrieg or lighting war tactic. pushed through the Ardennes forest into Paris taking France and forcing them to surrender. -

The Battle of Britain was a crucial air battle fought over Britain following the fall of France Hitler wanted to have air superiority over Britain in order to launch a land invasion of Britain. the Luftwaffe launched air attacks but with the help of radar technology and superior aircraft like the spitfire they repelled the German attacks. the Battle of Britain showed that Hitler couldn't get air superiority over Britain and can't invaded Britain. -

the Dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the first use of atomic weapon in warfare. dropping the first bomb on Hiroshima killing 70,000 but Japan didn't surrender so three day later they dropped another one on Nagasaki killing another 40,000 people. the bombing caused Japan to surrender to the United States ending world war ll
