This was a battle instigated by Japan. The plan was for Japan to defeat East Asia and Southwest Pacific and take over lots of territory. Japan was not successful in this battle and was later taken down by America, leading to the territorial colonization by the U.S. -

Operation Gomorrah is a code name for The Battle of Hamburg. It was a series of air raids from July 24th 1943 to July 32nd 1943. This plan was created by the allied forces onto Germany to attempt a stop to the World War. In result of this decision, over 37,000 people died. -

This was possibly the bloodiest battle in all of World War II. The battle of Iwo Jima is when American forces invaded the Island of Iwo Jima to take down Japanese forces. They took over Iwo Jima because America was in the process of Island hopping. In result of this battle, over 7,000 Japanese soldiers were killed and America was victorious. -
Liberation of Concentration camps
In 1945, the final liberation of concentration camps was created. After fighting for years, the Jews were finally set free. The Red Army came across the Auschwitz concentration camp and set free all the Jews, and to hopefully ease the spirits of the millions who died. -

This was an Operation created to take attack on Berlin and bomb them. Also known as Attack against Chemnitz, this plan was not successful. It was never carried out or executed. -

This and The battle of Iwo Jima were considered the bloodiest fights of WWII. The Battle of Okinawa happened because it was Japan's last line of defense between the U.S. The U.S was victorious in this battle and resulted in the surrendering of Japan. -

This day is one of the most revolutionary in all of History today. On this day, Germany finally surrendered to European forces, causing the World War to end in Europe. This was a big step for society because they had been fighting for this for so long. In result of this, we went to mostly having peace and solitude. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bomb
This is one of the most devastating times in all of History. This happened after a B-29 bomber was headed over the city of Hiroshima in Japan and dropped an atomic bomb. This attack was made by America to make a fast end to the world war. This bomb immediately killed 80,000 people as soon as it hit the ground. Tens of thousands more would die later because of radiation poisoning. -
VJ-Day
This was the Victory against Japan day. This day refers to the time when Japan finally surrendered to American troops and this marks the official end of World War 2. This was an emotional day for everyone.
