The German Blitzkrieg in actionThe German Blitzkrieg took place on September 1st 1939. This is when Germany invaded Poland, which was the first country to be invaded in World War II because it was "living space" for the Germans. The Soviet Union was also invloved in the invasion of Poland. This impacted WWII because it gathered the Allies to join together and start the official war. In German "Blitzkrieg" means lighning war, so the Germans used alot of sudden air strikes.

Nazis in Paris May of 1940,The Nazis invaded France, then later Paris. The Germans plan of attack was to go through the Ardennes Forest into France. French and British soldiers assumed that the Germans would attack in Belgium but were wrong and made France easy to invade. This happeneded so that Hitler could have revenge on the allies . This impacted many civilans to be angry and join the allies against the Nazis. -

The BlitzThe London Blitz was an overnight bombing of London, England made by the German Forces.This started the Battle of Britain which lasted for 8 months. The Germans did this because Hitler wanted land in England but they had a peace treaty, so Hitler ignored it and started the Battle of Britain. This effected people in London because there city was turned into rubble and innconet civilains lost there lives.

Lend Lease act
The Lend Lease ActThis is an act that traded war supplies to the allies during WW11. For example, The US would trade war supplies to Britain in return for naval bases in the Carribbean. The US did this so they wouldn't be too involved in the war but still contribute. Its allies were Great Britain and France. Its effect lead Britain to be victorious in some battles with Germany.

Bombing of Pearl Harbor
Attack on Pearl Harbor.Right before 8 a.m The Japanase bombed a naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. . It destroyed 20 naval vessles, 8 battleships, and 300 airplanes. About 2,000 people died from the attack. The Japanese attacked because the US was allies with China and Japan needed more resourses for the war with china. This caused war with the U.S and Japan.

Bataan Death MarchThe US had surrendered the Bataan Peninsula on the Philippine island of Luzon. 75,000 American and Filippino troops had to make a 65 mile walk to prison camps in hard conditions. They were treated harshly under Japanese control. This happened because the US army chose to surrender. It impacted WW2 because it caused more tension in the pacific.

Germany invaded the Soviet Union, then Germany is defeated at Stalingrad
The Battle of Stalingrad.On June 22nd 1941, Germany broke the Germany-Soviet pact and invaded the Soviet Union. About one year late on July 17th 1942 Germany was defeated at the Battle of Stalingrad. This occured because Hitler wanted land on the River of Volga but it was also valuable to the Soviets. This was a major turning point of the war on the Eastern Front.This iimpacted the Germans because there Army was crushed. In total there were 2 million deaths.

D-Day
D-Day.The US and its allies land in Normandy, France. The event was codenames "Operation Overlord". American, British, and Candanian forces landed on a 50 mile beach stretch and fought against German troops and won. They began to liberate France and Western Europe. The Allies did this because they didn't like Hitlers regiem. This imapcted France heavily because they were completelky liberated from the Nazis.

The Battle of the Bulge.Also known as the Ardennes Offensive this battle was fought between The US army and the Germans. It took place in the Ardennes Forest in Belgium. It was one of the largest battles fought on the Western Front. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.On August 6th 1945 President Truman annouced he was going to drop atomic bombs in the citys of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. It was his only option if he wanted the US to succeed. In total the bombs killed 120,000 people and wiped out 90% of the city Hiroshima. This happened because the US military needed to win and this was there only option. It effected the WW2 because it was the force that ended the war.
