WW1&WW2

  • Imperialism, and nationalism- MAIN WW1

Germany was motivated by imperial ambitions to invade France. Germany wanted to create a European empire.
(Video in Ch1 MAIN). Nationalism helped add tension between Bulgaria and Austria-Hungary (Video).
  • What led up to involvement in world conflicts

Their were alot of events that led up to the US entering WW1 but the ones I'm focusing on is the M.A.I.N causes and the Zimmerman telegram, The MAIN causes were Militarism, Alliances, Imperialism, and Nationalism. WW2: Im also going to be using the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the fact that Japan was getting really involved in the war and that shot us into WW2,
  • What led up to the US getting involved in world conflicts Pt 2

the US was racing to get atomic bombs against Russia, Another reason they joined the war was that The US had a rivalry with the soviet union.
  • military and Alliances- MAIN WW1

Militarism is the competition between European Military advances. The scale of the war was blamed on Russia the Schlieffen plan was blamed for bringing Britain into the war (Ch 1 Video). the triple alliance was an alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. he triple entente was an alliance between France Brittan and Russia.(Video)
  • Zimmerman WW1 PT1

the Zimmerman project was when the germans tried to create an alliance with Mexico so they could start submarine warfare. The massage helped draw the U.S. into war. Germany tried to convince Mexico to invade the US and take back their territory ( texas, New Mexico, and Arizona). I don't think the Zimmerman telegram was a good idea because Mexico could've easily told the US and that's what they did and it caused the US to go to war which is the opposite of what Germany wanted.
  • Zimmerman PT2

Germany wanted Mexico to do this because they wasted to stall the US and stop them from joining or when they did it would be to late. Mexico didn’t Invade the US, and they US joined the war at the right time and were very powerful. (my brain). The US joined et the right time because they had a lot of troops to deploy while other countries had already had a lot of deaths.i think a lot of people would agree the US joined at the right time because they were very powerful and eventually wont the war
  • WW2 Hiroshima and Nagasaki

The US bombed japan because it made japan so scared that they surrendered because they weren’t that advanced in their weaponry (my head). Hiroshima was chosen it because was larger and would make more of an impact on their military bases, and factories to get rid of their military. Some of the long-term effects were There was radiation that would make people sick and kill them due to radiation poisoning for the next couple of decades.
  • hiroshima nagasaki - my POV

I dont think what the US did was right, I think they could have Used other methods instead of dropping 2 atomic bombs on them because not only did it scare them like the US wanted, it destroyed them and everything in the drop sites for hundreds of miles they could have used other more calm methods to win. I think a lot of people would agree because it caused so much un necessary damage.
  • Japan getting to involved in the war

Japan was calling alot of the shots in the war and were getting dangerous so the US decided to put all of the Asian Americans in "War relocation camps" because they were considered a threat. in my opinion i don’t think what they did was right because the Japanese Americans weren’t doing anything wrong and they were being sent away for how they looked. The Aisan Americans did not like how they were being treated, they were trapped in a desert because they were considered a "threat".
  • Cold war pt 1

With nuclear warfare, The US and USSR raced to get the best nuclear weapons out there to have the advantage if war broke out. This made the war have a lot of tension between The US and the USSR because both countries had powerful weapons that would cause a total breakout in probably an apocalypse destroying both countries completely. I think THe US and the USSR were racing to get the bombs and the US got there first and they dropped them on japan and the USSR was mad because the US beat them.
  • cold war pt 2

The US thought communism is bad and the USSR didn't and they wanted to spread it. This is a factor because there was high tension and one side had to snap but luckily no one did.
  • similarities between hot was and cold war

during WW2 began the invention of nuclear bombs and they got dropped on japan in the cold war was the race to gain the nuclear advantage between the US and USSR, they did this because they wanted to have an edge if another war started. Another similarity between the Hot wars and the cold war was strategy, in the cold war they had to wait to see what the other country was going to do so you could plan your next move as well as in the hot wars their strategy was to win and that's how they did it.
