    Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s Assasination
    On a visit to Sarajevo the Bosnian capital, Archduke Franz Ferdinand along with his wife were assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. A incident prior that day, a separate attacker threw a gernade under his car on his way to a speech. After the speech Gavrilo shot him and his wife dead in an ally way. His death would eventually lead to he beginning of WW1 a month later.

    Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia As a response to the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Three days prior Austria-Hungary ended diplomatic relations with the country. Russia a Serbian ally readied troops against Austria-Hungary.

    THe stock market crash is the beginning of the Great Depression. Many took thier lives that day by jumping from the buildings they were in. The profitability of the stock market would not return to its former profitability for many years.

    The economy was trying to improve but the weakness in our banks brought it down even further. The Bank of Tennessee was one of the first to fail. One third of the banks in America failed. People wanting to get there money out as soon as possible deposited all their money causing many banks to go out of business.

    Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and nothing was done. Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain gave the rest of Czechoslovakia to him hoping he would stop. It did not however and they soon took other territories.

    The Allies invade the beaches of Normandy. This is the turning point of the war. We would eventually take back France and start heading twards the German boarder.
