The shhoting occured in Sarajevo when they were shot dead by Gavrilo Princip; many countries around the world blamed the Serbian government for the attack. -

This was important to WW1 because it led tension not only between these countries, but the others who were allies. -

The German Army invaded Luxembourg and Belgium. Thats when the Commander of British Expeditionary Forces agreed to join the French in attacking the German forces. -

The Battle of Somme was between the British and French empires vs. the German empire. This was one of the deadliest battles in WW1 resulting in over 1.5 million deaths between the allie and central powers. -

The Battle of Verdun is considered to be the greatest and longest battle of WW1. Never had a battle been so deadly and have no positive ending for either sides, only negative. It was between Germany and France. -

A coded telegram dispatched by the foreign secretary of the German Empire to Mexico. After Mexico recieved this they informed the U.S. not wanting to be part of it. This is the main reason the U.S. joined WW1. -
