After learning of the japanese intentions the united states mounted a full counter strike on the japan causing a won battle for the U.S.

    Being on of the bloodiest battles in human history and claiming the lives of over 1,400,000 soldiers and over 40,000 civilians and lasting almost seven months was a major rallying point showing the resilience of the soviet union.

    On D-Day in 1944 the united states navy invaded the beach in Nrmandy, France. As the united states landed on the beach and then got shot at by german machine gunners and artillery.

    In the batle of Iwo Jima, one of the bloodiest battles in world war two, the allied forces lost a total of 6281 soldiers while the japanese forces, only 22,060 strong, lost over 18,000 of their men while about 3,000 of them went into hiding. the battle was meant to capture three airstrips on the island and ended wit an allied victory.

    The battle of okinawa was one of the largest amphibious assault in history. the battle lasted for 82 days and 143,166 soldiers died and anywhere between 42,000 and 150,000 civilians died by either murder or suicide. The allied powers lost 245 tanks over 82 dayswhich is about three tanks per day, while the japanese lost only 27.
