On the very next day Germany declared war on Belgium to invade France. Great Britain imediately declares war on Germany becuase both Belgium and France were allies with Great Britain.

    On May 7, 1915, ship Lusitania was torpedoed by a German u-boat. More than 1,200 people we sunk among them there were 128 Americans. Eventually America declared war on Germany as an effect of the sinking of the Lusitania.

    In Januart 1917 the Zimmerman telegram was sent by Germans to Mexico proposing an alliance. If United States would declare war on Germany, then Mexico should declare war on America, and if German has the victory then Mexico can get back Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The British intercepted the Telegram and gave it to American authorities.

    Germany promised America that it would stop the unrestricted warfare. Later that year, 1916, Germans sunk an unarmed French passenger ship. Then again Gremans pledged in the Sussex Pledge to stop sinking unarmed ships. This pledge didn't last long because on January 31, 1917, Germany said that it will resume the unrestricted submarine warfare.

    US entered war because Germany continued with the unrestricted submarine warfare. US brought in new troops which helped bring the war to a faster end.
