    Hitler was appointed to be the Chancellor of Germany by the President of Germany on Jan. 30th 1933. Hitler later begins to gain more power than expected.
  • First Concentration Camp

    First Concentration Camp
    The first concentration camp was opened and established outside of Munich, known as the Dachau. This concentration camp was just the begining of the Holocaust. The purpose of the concentration camps were to slowly kill off the Jews.
  • Boycotting

    Boycotting
    A boycott of Jewish owned stores and homes occurred. Hitler wanted nothing to do with the Jews, and decided to take, ruin, burn, and destroy anything the Jewish had owned. From their businesses to their homes.
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht
    On November 9th and 10th Kristallnacht, known as "the night of broken glass" occurred. Kristallnacht is a violent act of anti-Jewish pogroms throughout Germany. Windows of houses, Jewish owned businesses, anything owned by Jews were broken and shattered.
  • Ghettos

    Ghettos
    The Germans establish ghettos in Poland for the Jews. These ghettos were small, crowded, and in no condition for anyone to be living in. They were dirty and had very little food for all the Jews they had sent to live here. The Jewish people were sent to the ghettos to be excluded from everyone else.
  • Jewish Killings

    Jewish Killings
    Einsatzgruppen take 13,000 Jews from the ghetto set up in Poland and kill them. Once they took all 13,000 of these people, they were either shot or gassed. This was the begining of the ridding of all Jews,
  • Treblinka

    Treblinka
    Germans begin deporting large numbers of Jews, over 300,000, from the ghettos to Treblinka. Trenlinka was the place where all Jews were taken to be killed. They were known as the death camps. In these death camps Jews were taken here and killed off. They were gassed, shot, etc.
  • American troops liberate Dachau

    American troops liberate Dachau
    The American troops liberate the concentration camp known as Dachau. The Germans had started a death march with the Jews. If they were too slow or too tired they were shot and killed. The American troops had liberated the prisoners how had been sent on the death march.
  • Hitler commits suicide

    Hitler commits suicide
    Hitler was warned by officers that the Russians were only a day or so away from overtaking chancellery. He had no plans for avoiding this and decided to commit suicide because he had no further plans. Hitler shot himself in the head in his underground bunker.
  • Germany surrenders to western allies

    Germany surrenders to western allies
    After Hilter commits suicide he leaves his men with no choice. German troops couldn't do anything without there leader. They had no idea how to avoid anything and knew they had no way around it and surrendered to western allies.
