Japanese Kamikaze pilots attack Pearl Harbor, HI. This was prompted due to a Japanese-American rivalry. This was a trigger for the United States, forcing them into World War II. -

This was a series of battles fought around the island of Okinawa in the Ryuku islands. This bttle was fought to combat Japan. This battle is the largest sea-land-air battle in history. -
Victory in Europe day
Europe celebrates as the war is over in Europe. German Nazis surrender. This leave the war still going on in North America and Asia. -
Dropping of Atomic Bombs
U.S. attacks Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs. The U.S. did this in an effort to force Japan to surrender. Japan finally surrenders after the second bomb is dropped. -
VJ Day
Victory over Japan Day. The U.S. celebrates as Japan surrenders. Thus the war is ended.
