    German Blitzkrieg
    Europe was sent off to war after Germany invaded Poland. Germany has been doing this military tactic called "Blitzkrieg" which led more than two years of victory. This tactic ordered for a security of offensive weapons along the narrow front. In a blitzkrieg, also, the armies move quick and are helped by tanks and by aircraft. The opposing armies are slower moving units, which leads them to defeat.

  • Battle of France

    Battle of France
    When Germany put a beginning to the war in Europe, they were seeking to take over France. Germany bombed many countries of the allied power, including France. This led to Germany's defeat over the allied forces and soon after Germany succeed on the attempts in invading France. German troops marched into Paris in the early hours of this morning. French and allied forces retreated, which led to this capturing of Paris

    The war started once Luftwaffe became a threat to Britain once they attacked a convoy of their ships. Britain was able to earn the successful defense in response to the previous bombing. This battle was important because it was the first time Nazi were stopped. This battle was not successful in the way either Germany or Britain wished it to be, instead was a positive lead for Allied powers

    Lend Lease
    The Lend-Lease Act was provided for the U.S. military to help the foreign nations during World War II. Lend-Lease completely eliminated any semblance of neutrality. The Lend Lease was the rebuilding of the U.S. industrial output to the demands of war. This called for the United States to begin to provide significant military supplies.

    Operation Barbarossa
    The Operation Barbarossa was also known as the German invasion of the Soviet Union. Hitler directed his troops into this mass invasion of the Soviet Union. Germany was wrong to be so confident, due to the unknown advances the Soviet Union had over them. Germany allowed for themselves to be forced into a two front war after failing to defeat the Soviet Union.

  • Japan bombed Pearl Harbor

    Japan bombed Pearl Harbor
    U.S. put a stop to all oil trade in Japan, which angered Japan deeply. Japan also wanted to create an empire for themselves, so they decided they needed to put a threat on the U.S. They did this by sending hundreds of Japanese fighter planes to Pearl Harbor. Japan had a goal to eliminate the Pacific fleet and they hoped this would fulfill those wishes. This bombing led to many deaths and damage to around 20 naval vessels.

    The United States declared war on Japan and Germany
    United States was unexpectedly attacked by air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States Pacific fleet is permanently damages and many Americans were killed which cause for anger and drive with FDR. The U.S. declared a war on Germany a day after the recent bombing of the Pearl Harbor. On both sides of the coasts, the civilian defense team was prepared.

  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    This march refers to the mandatory march of American soldiers taking prisoners by Japanese in Philippines. Japan had a mission to bomb the Pearl Harbor, and then invade the Philippines. The Filipino army surrendered to the Japanese. This march led to around ten thousand deaths, mostly Filipinos. Soldiers were forced into marching to these prison camps in outrageous distance.

    Battle of Midway
    Japan was set on weaken and damaging the U.S. and the Pacific fleet. They were hoping to surprise attack a place near the Pearl Harbor. The Pacific fleet, however, were one step ahead of them so they demolished Japan's plan. The Pacific fleet sent out planes that would fight against the attack Japan had planned.

    Germany was not victorious in this invasion and failed in defeating the Soviet Union. This failure was major turning point into the war. In the Battle of Stalingrad, the Soviet Union army was able to surround and defeat an entire German army. This was a bloody battle that led to over 2 million causalities.
  • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    People stunned by the discrimination that came with the death and extermination camps, which led to riots forming. These riots did not help solve this issue, however it caused for an uprising. SS forces with help sent out tanks and heavy artillery to repay the Warsaw ghetto. Germans killed or captured thousands of Jews. Soon this uprising led to the ghetto being completely under Nazi control.

  • D-Day

    D-Day
    Leading up to this event, thousands of paratroopers and glider troops had previously been on the ground behind enemy line. This gave them the advantage of protecting and guarding the bridges and exit roads. Paris was liberated once the Allies arrived at the Seine River. The Battle of Normandy was over once the Germans were forced away, this placed the tide onto Nazis

    The Allied forces were being attempted to be split by Hitler. Germany did not provide enough defense in Ardennes which caused problems. Hitler was unsuccessful in claiming victory, but still hoped to not lose to Allies completely. Hitler could of been successful if Germany was not short on supplies or fuel. 100,000 causalities were what this battle resulted in.

    Liberation of concentration camps
    Soviet soldiers were the first to liberate concentration camp prisoners. They went to Auschwitz and when there they discovered hundreds of sick and exhausted prisoners. Germans were unable to help themselves. The victims lost many special belongings.

    Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    America dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. This bomb was majorly destructive and cause for many Japanese to be killed. Nagasaki was then bombed and destroyed greatly just days after. These places in Japan did not expect these massive bombings. Japan seemed to think it was best to surrender.
