This event is a turning point because Hitler now has power as a ruler, and though Hitler didn't have full power at this point, the election of Hitler brought on the following events.     The Reichstag fire was an attack on a building in Berlin, and it provided Hitler with a reason to start killing people that he believed were enemies because the fire was blamed on Communists.     Remilitarization of the Rhineland
    The remilitarization of the Rhineland was an event where Hitler openly went against the Treaty of Versailles and the League of Nations didn't do anything against Hitler. Not only did this event bring more control for Hitler over Germany and bring Germany more pride, this increased Hitler's want of other countries.     Blitzkrieg
    Germany takes over most of western Europe. Germany uses a war tactic called blitzkrieg, which means lightning war. Germany was able to take over the Netherlands, Belgium, and northern France. This event occurred between May 10th, 1940 to June 22nd, 1940. This was a turning point because it shows Germany's progress in the war. Germany was very successful at this point of time in the war.     D-Day
    D-Day was day that was of great significance to the Allies. The Allies created secret plans to attack the German military. The weather and the situation made it highly unlikely for the Allies to attack the Germans that day, so the Germans were unaware of any plans by the Allies. This event is a turning point because it was the day where the Allies finally started winning the war, and the winning streak continued until the end of the war.
