Germany's Invasion of Poland
German invaded Poland after Hitler annexed Czechoslovakia and Austria. Right after that France and Great Britain decalred war on Germany as well to help Poland. Germany had great combined arms warfare and radios to communcate with. Evently Russia was in with Hitler and came from the East to take Poland to split with Hitler. -
German Blitzkrieg~1993-1940
The Germans were the first to use the Blitzkrieg method or the combined-arms tactics of rapid maneuver. This helped them invaid Poland quicker. It was the help of the small radios that they all could commucate with to each other. -
Fall fo Pairs
The German entered Pairs to arrest people and talk to them. two million Parians had fled before the Germans even go there. The ones who stayed were traped in their capital. -
Operation Barbarossa~1941
The USSR was heading to the south of the Black Sea. The russians were caught off guard by the Germans. It was such a suprise that they were not ready for and ened up defeated. Killing most of their comanders. -
Pearl Harbor~1941
The japanese bomed Pearl Harbor hoping to destroy the Pacific Fleet. Unfortently their plan to cripple the U.S ,so they could go take over the land they wanted, did not work out. The air craft carriers were in Harbor Sunday morning when the bombing happened at the base of Pearl. Their plan did not carry out as much as they really wanted, but it did help us deciced to go to war with them. -
Wannsee Conference
Wannsee Conference was a meeting of the Nazi officals. They were talking about where the Jews would go. They said that they would be deported to Poland to be murdered. -
Bataan Death March
The American and Filapeno troops were forced to march 65 miles to prison camps. The Japanese forced them to march there in the heat and very harsh treatment. Thousands died on the five day walk and many died in the camps due to dieases and starvation. -
Battle of Midway
After many days of the Janpanese and the U.S fighting and aircraft destoryed, the Midway Battle goes to a victory with the U.S. Taking four majoy aircraft carriers and the skilled men with them. It was made clear that we were not going to stop now, and that Japan can be defeated at Tokyo. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The Germans already thought that they were going to win. The Soviet Union held on and did not give up or surrender. The weather played a huge part in this battle. Gerneral Paulus surrendered due to this fact. 80,000 lost their lives due to the weather and lack of food. 90,000 of the German troops were left on the island when the USSR took it back, only 5,000 of those men were seen alive after. Most of them dying in a Soviet fashion. -
Warsaw Ghetto uprising
The Polish was very cofindent on winning, but they seemed to know that they werent as strong as the Germans. While the Germans left the capital, The Polish were growing in numbers still small though. The City Warsaw was a battle zone and the Polish were bravley fighting it. 250,000 Polish were killed to 26,000 Germans that were killed. The Polish surrendered and the Germans took the city. -
Operation Gomorrah
The Brithish attacked Hamburg with bombing them. They killed more than 30,000 people, used 9,000 tons of explosives, and destroyed 280,000 buldings. German officals were thinking that they might be defeated soon. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Germans came at the U.S hard with lots of tanks and soilders. The Americans held their defense up. One reason the German cam to a stop was becase they were fighting in sub-below tempatures. By them haulting them there they were able to attack from the north and south. Making the Germans withdraw from the Bulge. -
Operation Thunderclap
British and American aircraft dropped more than 3,400 tons of explosives on the city Dresden. Leaving the city burning for days. Up to 135,000 were found dead. The hospital could not keep up and mass burials were needed. -
Battle of Iwo Jima~ 1945
The U.S tried to win the battle at Iwo Jima. The island was a Japanese home land and they didnt come out on top. Almost all but 300 of them were killed. The U.S had a victory on one of their home islands. -
battle of Okinawa
Okinawa is one of the last battles of the Pacific that they captured. Over 107,000 Japanese military were killed. -
VE Day
The victory for the U.S and Britan that the Nazi party surrendered. Most of the Germans were scared to prisoned. Two million tried to excape but was caought by the Russians. The war was over and it wasnt till the ninth of may when everyone heard it over the radio. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
The United States is the first to use atomic bombs. They drop it on the largest city of Hiroshima. Even though it killed lots of lives it ened the WWII. -
VJ Day
After the United States dropped the second atomic bomb the Japanese surrendered. The first atomic bomb killed70,00 and the second one killed 40,000 people. He made his people accept the surender.
