Japanese Invasion of China
This battle took place on the Logou Bridge and spawned the second Sino-Japanese War. The cause of this battle was because China did not want Japan to expand into their country. Japan has been trying to expand into China since 1931, but no physical contact was made until 1937. -
Germany's Invasion of Poland
This was the first place Germany invaded any country in WWII. This was run by Adolf Hitler so he could regain lost land in Poland. In the end, Germany takes control of Poland and that would be the first of many victories for them. -

Operation Barbarossa
Code name for Nazi Germany invasion of the Soviet Union. Germany wanted more terrority to help themselves win the war. This was originally called Operation Fritz. Germany lost, and was a massive turning point in this war. -
Pearl Harbor
When Japanese forces invaded Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This happened because Japan did not want us to interfere with their empire. This was actually December 8, 1941 in Japan. This attack was the result of America coming into play with WWII. -
Wannsee Conference
The Gathering of Nazi officials held in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee. The point of this gathering was to ensure the partnership of the leaders of government torwards how they would treat Jewish people that occupied Europe and would be then deported to Poland and to be murdered. -
Battle of Midway
Was a navel battle organized by Japan that took place six months after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. The Japanese hoped that another defeat would force the U.S. to surrender and ensuring Japanese rule in America. -
Battle of Stalingrad
This was a major battle during World War II where Nazis and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of Stalingrad in South Russia, on the Eastern boundary of Europe. -
Operation Gomorrah
Operation Gomorrah was a bombing that killed about 42,600 people and wounded about 37,000 in Hamburg and practically destroyed the whole city. -
Allied Invasion of Italy
This was the Allied landing on Italy, lead by General Harold Alexander's 15th Army Group during the Second World War. -

This battle was one of the biggest German campaigns ever and they end up losing the battle to. It is an allied victory. -
Operation Thunderclap
Operation Thunderclap was code for a cancled operation planned in August 1944. If this attack would of occured, over 200,000 people would have died in Berlin. -

This was the battle where the United States landed and captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese. -
Battle of Okinawa
This was the last and probably the biggest, of the Pacific island battles during World War II. The Okinawa campaign involved 287,000 U.S. troops against 130,000 soldiers from Japan's army. By the end of the campaign, Japan had lost about 77,000 soldiers and the Allies had suffered more than 65,000 deaths, including 14,000 dead. -

D-Day (Normandy Invasion)
The Normandy landings or code named Operation Neptune were the landing missions on June 6, 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in operation overlord during World War II. It was the biggest seaborne invasion, the operation began the invasion of German occupied Western Europe and led to the liberation of France from Germany's control and even contributed to an allied victory for the war. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
The U.S. dropped atomic bombs on two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.Altogether, the bombings killed about 129,000 people. This is the only use of nuclear weapons for warfare in world history. -

The Surrender of Japan's armed forces, and marks the end of World War II.
