Alliances
Formed alliances between countries dragged each other into war. Britain, France, and Russia were part of the Triple Entente. Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy were part of the Triple Alliance. When one country got into a conflict with the other, it dragged all the other countries into the conflict as well. -

A German boat torpedoed and sank Lusitania. -

Zimmerman Telegram was a diplomatic communication issued from the German Foriegn Office. It was proposing an alliance between Germany and Mexico after the United States entered the World War. -

Imperialism is when a superior country acts as a "mother country" to smaller countries. After World War I, many European countries used imperialisim. -
