German Empire Established As One
Germany had always been a loose affiliation of states but in 1871 it unified under Prussian leadership which included all states except Austria. They consolidated under a single centralized ruler. This caused them to become more powerful and lead to more unease within world peace. -
Russian and Turkish War
Shocked by atrocities committed against Bulgaria, Russia declares war against Turkey. Russia wins leading to Treaty of San Stefano. -
Germany + Austria-Hungary + Italy sign Triple Alliance
As a counter-weight to France and Russia. The would basically help each other if the other got deaclared/declared war on someone else. -
Germany takes Tanzania, New Guinea
The Germans are expanding their empire nby taking over other countries. -
Wilhelm II Becomes Kaiser.
His ambitions for Germany raise tensions between the great powers. -
Russo - Japanese War
Japan and Russia fought for control of Manchuria and Korea. The Russians lost this war and lost almost their entire Balti and Pacific fleets. Also caused political unrest in Russia which lead to a revolution. Re-focused Russia's attention on Europe which re-kindled the rivalry with Austria-Hungary. -
The Morrocan Crises
Germans landed in Morrocco as part of an elaborate plot to create tension between Britain and Italy. The were unsuccsessful and this only caused a stronger bond between Italy and Britain, and more tension between those two countries and Germany. -
Triple Entente (Britain, Italy and Russia)
Italy was already in alliance with Russia and Britain, Britain and Italy's alliance was known as the Entente Cordiale. Britain then formed and alliance with Russia and the alliance was named the Triple Entente -
Balkan War
Serbia, Greece, Montenegro and Bulgaria formed the Balkan League, a molitary alliance against the Ottoman Emipre. Within months the Balkan allies completely removed the Ottoman Empire of all its possessions and divided the conquered territory between them. In june of the next year Bulgaria started bickering with Serbia and Greece and lost a short war against them. They removed Bulgaria's claims in Macedonia. -

Heir to the Austria Hungary throne. He was killed in Sarajevo alonng with his wife. Killed by Bosnian Serb Gavrilo Princip -

Beginning of World War One
Vienna intentionally imposed impossible demands to Serbia in order to be able to declare war on its neighbor for ‘orchestrating’ the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. A few days later, the Austro-Hungarian troops invaded Serbia and started the devastating World War I. -
Battle of the Ardennes,
The battle was sparked somewhat unusually by the mutual confused collision of French and German invasion forces in the lower Ardennes forests. -

Australians drive Germans from Villers-Bretonneux
The Germans had captured Villers–Bretonneux and were pushing out west in the direction of Amiens. Australian units helped defend the town but a German attack forces the British north of the town out of the village of Hamel. An Australian battalion had to go back to avoid being closed in.The German advance was stopped by British troops working with the Australians soldiers. -

One of tthe main peacetreaties at the end of World War One. It ended the State Wr between Germany and Allied Powers. The Armastices was created 6 months earlier but it took 6 months of negotiating at the Paris Peace Conference to conclude the peace trreaty.
