The Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
The importance of Ferdinand's assassination would be that his death is what caused the war between. A Serbian killed Ferdinand and his wife, which caused Austria-Hungary to declare war on them. The whole process of Austria-Hungary declaring war would be Serbia and Austria-Hungary alliances declaring war. From there other countries started declaring war on each other. Germany declaring war on Russia is what other countries did to each other. -
Austria Declares War of Serbia
Austria declared war on Serbia started on June 28, 1914, the day Ferdinand and his wife were murdered. They were murdered by a Serbian. Before they were killed Serbia and Austria-Hungary were never on good terms, which made more sense as to the way Austria-Hungary immediately wanted war on Serbia. -
The 1st Battle of the Marne
The significant point of the battle would be Germany invading Paris, France, and wanting to destroy their land. A French general Charles de Gaulle stopped Germany from invading France. Although the Germans were stopped it was already too late because they ruined a part of France. -

Sinking of the Lusitania
The sinking of the Lusitania is important because out of 1,949 people on that boat 1,313 died, 128 of them being Americans. The boat sunk because of a German U-boat. A lot of Americans were upset because those 128 Americans who died were innocent civilians. -

Stalemate: "A state where both sides are so evenly balanced that neither can breakthrough against the enemy." | The stalemate on the Western front was a dilemma about firepower and space. The Triple entente and alliance did not expect this to happen. Modern weapons from the firepower are what were used for trench warfare. The weapons from the firepower are what helped create the trench stalemate. -
Russian Revolution
Causes of the Russian Revolution would be the weak leadership of Czar Nicholas II. Strikes and riots took an outbreak during the revolution. Bloody Sunday is known as the event that took in 1905 during the revolution that led to the Tsar losing control of large areas of Russia. The effects would be Bolshevik's control of the government. The Bolsheviks executed Czar and his family that ended the Czarist rule. -
America joins the War
America's role at the beginning of the war was neutral. Americans support either side, but most of them were with the Allies. America joining the war was the climax they were the ones that made it possible the defeat Germany. U.S. soldiers helped to tip the war to help out the Allies. When the war broke out the U.S. had a policy of neutrality. The U.S. provided many technologies and weapons to help the Allies. American troops helped Allied territories by taking away German forces from them. -
Armistice
The Allies and Germany signed an armistice agreement that would put an end to the war. Germany agreed to this agreement because they were running on soldiers, supplies, food, etc. The Allies ended up winning over the Central Powers.
