The best-known German strategic bombing campaign during World War I was the campaign against England. The Germans had built a new type of airship, the zepellin scutte - lanz, which was very big but unefficient. The German Air Force bombed England. -
Germany announces blockade of Britains ports
On Febuary 4th, Kasier Wilhelm announced Germany`s intention to sink any and all ships sailing under the flags of Britain, Russia and France found within the British waters. Germany was producing many u-boats at that moment, so Britain was surrounded without escape. Germany did this. -
Secret Treaty of London
The secret treaty was a secret pact beween Italy and the Triple Entente (Britain, France and Russia). This treaty consist in bring Italy into World War 1 within a month. In reward, Italy, promised land: Trieste, southern Tyrol, northern Dalmatia, and other territories. (The Triple Entente wanted Italy’s participation because of its border with Austria - Hungary). Although many Italians weren`t in favour with this treaty, favoured neutrality, Italy joined the war against Austria-Hungary in May. -
Tsar Nicholas takes command of Russian armies
On Setember 5th, 1915 Tsar Nicholas had sent a letter to Grand Duke Nikolai asking to be the commander in chief of the Russian armies. He mentioned that he would take the responsability and control. Finally, Tsar Nicholas was comander in chief of the Russian armies until the war ended.
