5th of November
The 5th of November was about how Guy Fawkes and crew planned on killing the king in the house of pariliament. But one of his men, told someone who worked in the House of Parliament and then he alerted the king. They alerted him and ended up finding guy fawkes. Now they celebrate him being captured on November 5th. -
The Parliament is gone
King Charles 1 takes away the short parliament. When he doesn't give him the orders he wanted for a war against Scotland it causing people on the parliament side to grow angry. -
Royal Family leaves London
King doesn't want Parliament anymore. Support for the Parliament forces the King plus the rest of the royal family to leave London. Also, they had to go because these men found them and told them to go with them. -
The Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles was the official residence of the Kings of France from 1682 until 1790. It was originally a hunting lodge, built in 1624, by Louis XIII. It was expanded by Louis XIV beginning in 1669. The French classical architecture was complemented by the complex gardens. -
The Americans declare Independence on Britain
In 1776, because of reasons such as "taxation without representation", the American colonists declared independence from the British monarchy through the Declaration of Independence. Written by Thomas Jefferson, it stated reasons for America to separate from Britain. -
The French Revolution Starts
Enlightenment ideals like liberty, equality , and brotherhood had been heard across France. The people of the third estate knew they were being treated unfairly, so they made an oath that they wouldn't stop fighting until the caste system was fair. The first act of rebellion happened when the people stormed the Bastille prison.
