Negated a Texas law that prohibited abortion when a mother’s life was not in danger. Stated that states could not interfere with a woman’s right to an abortion during the first trimester of a pregnancy. -

The Equal Rights Amendment declared “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on the account of sex.” The amendment fell 3 states short of ratification. -
