William Golding was born on September 19, 1911. He was born in a small town called St. Columb Minor, in Cornwall England. His parents were Alec Golding and Mildred Golding. -

He grew up with his mother and his father, who was a science master at the Marlborough Grammar School where he and his older brother Joseph Golding attended. -
Early Life School
When William was little he went to Marlborough Grammar School. He did not have any social skills so he would always get into fights with other kids, but after some talking his mom got him on the right track. -
College
William Golding went to college at the University of Brasenose in Oxford and he graduated in 1935. -
Career
William Golding studied the natural sciences at the University of Oxford but decided to devote to English literature instead. He taught many years before enlisting in the British army and they decided to write. -

The book Lord of the Flies was published by William Golding in 1954 after 21 failed uploads to publish. The book is still popular to this day. -
