World war one- the cause and the spark
World war one started because people wanted to share their countries culutures and they had alliances. Trench Warfare and Treaty of Versailles
Trench Warfare was a new form of land fighting that started in WWl. Soldiers dug ditches that they would hide in and shoot at the enemy without being hit.

Communism and Joseph Stalin
Communism is when the Government owns all of the businesses and land. People were promised equal share of the wealth, but this caused the people to be fully under the government's power. Joeseph Stalin was the dictator of the Soviet Union after Lenin. He was ruthless and was responsible for almost ten thousand of his own people's deaths. America during the depression

The Great Depression
In 1929 the stock market in the U.S.A crashed, also there was worldwide econimic downfall during the 1930's. Roosevelt's New Deal
The New Deal was different plans to employ Americans. If you were out of work you would go to the government and they would find a job for you. Many organizations that Roosevelt created are still in use today. Social Security is one plan that was made through him. World War II- Nazi Germany
Germany was in poverty and because of that people would do anything to get out of poverty. Which led to Adolf Hitler rising to power. He wanted to rule the world and killed many people. Among those people were an estimated 6 million Jews. The Holocaust
Adolph Hitler formed the Nazi Party which he promised to make Germany great again after the loss in World War l. Hitler was such a persuasive speaker that people believed him creating the Nazis. During the Holocaust the Nazis tried to wipe out all Jews and other minorities. They took Jews and put them in Concentration Camps where they starved them and overworked them and also killed them. Bombing of Pearl Harbor
The U.S. had managed to stay out of the war, until at about 8 am December 7th 1941 a day that would go down in infamy. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor destroying 20 ships and over 200 planes. Over 2,000 soilders died that day and over a thousand were injuried. Atomic Bombs and Japan
Germany surrendered the war on May 8th 1945 signaling the end of the war, but U.S.A was still fighting with Japan. On August 6th 1945 President Harry Truman had to order the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan to end World War ll. The Cold War- communism vs. capatialism
During World War ll America and Russia had been allies, but it was a tense relationship. Russia was angry at the U.S. for entering the war later which cost many Russian lives and America had been wary of Joseph Stalin's blood thirsty communist rule. Korean War
On June 25th, 1950 communist North Korea invaded non-communist South Korea. This was one of the two hot spots in the Cold War. The United States and other non-communist countries supported South Korea and communist China supported North Korea. Vietnam
The Vietnam war was one of the actual wars that was fought during the cold war. Many people died during this war mostly Vietnamnese civilans. The war was mostly conroverstial and many Americans did not support it. The Cold War Ends
The Cold War ended in 1991 when the communist rule in Soviet Union collapsed. In 1989 most of Eastern Europe rejected communism, but communism didn't end until the Soviet Union citizens demanded a new system.
