Mauryan Empire
~Founded by Chandragupta Maurya by taking advantage of the unrest in India caused by alexander's army.
~For the first time, India was under a single, centralized government instead of regional Rajas. -

Han Dynasty
~The qin dynasty was taken over by Liu Bang who ushered in the Han dynasty.
~Liu Bang used centralized rule just like in the qin dynasty, but before this he had a loose assemblage of city-states that would back each other up, but in an incident where he almost got killed since no other city-state helped led to him establishing centralized rule. -

Qin Dynasty
~short lived dynasty, but it was the first time china was unified and lead to more developed later dynasties
~Qin Shihuangdi established centralized rule so he had full control of his empire.
~Eventually fell as a result of civil insurrection against Qin Shihuangdi. -

Gupta
~The empire was organized by Rajas, but these Rajas were either owned or allied with the capital of Magadha.
~Rajas were left to their own administration.
~The empire declined when economic instability created by the invasion of white huns weakened the state. -
