Bill of Rights
The United States Congress made a Bill of Rights to let the people know about the rights they have. This plays a huge part in history. Without the Bill of Rights, the people would not know what they had the right to do and not to do. -
Lousiana Purchase
Napoleon Bonaparte sold the Lousiana land to America for $15 million. Hey sold this at such a cheap price because of a lot of reasons. One of them was because if he made America big and strong, they would help him conquer England and Europe altogether. -
Lewis & Clark Expedition
Louis and Clark were chosen to explore the newly bought land of Louisiana. When they were venturing, they asked Sacagawea to explore and guide them. She agreed and they were successful throughout their journey. -
Indian Removal Act
On May 28, 1830, a law was passed saying that President Jackson is authorized to negotiate with the Native American tribes. He was authorized to negotiate to them about how they needed to move west of the Mississippi in exchange for their ancestral homelands. They (forcefully more or the less) agreed. -
Trail of Tears
In 1838 and 1839, the Cherokee Native Americans started on their long journey to the west of the Mississippi. Many cried and died and it was very sad. The ones who did survived settled and recovered themselves but still remebering their lost ones. -
End of Trail of Tears
It took a year for the Cherokee Indians to travel to their destination. -
Florida becomes U.S. State
On March 3rd, 1845, Flordia beame a U.S. State. Florida was orginally discovered by Juan Ponce de Leon. It was owned by Spain. It was sold for $5 million. -
Mexican American War
The war started mostly because of the Annexation of Texas. The Mexicans were mad because they considered it part of their territory. It went on for two years. -
End of Mexican American War
This was the end of the Mexican American War. Thank goodness it didn't last longer. -
Transcontinental Railroad Completed
After a bunch of harsh, hot years, the Transcontinental Railroad was completed. It was the first railroad being transcontinental. It started in Nebraska and ended in California.
