End of Mexican American War
The Mexican American War marked the first U.S armed conflict fought on foreign soil. Texas gained independence from Mexico in 1836. On April 25, 1846 Mexico attacked a group of U.S soldiers then on May 13, congress declared war. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ends the Mexican-American War. Mexico also selled us California and the rest of its territory north of the Rio Grande for $15 million.
