Lousiana Purchase
TheUnited States acquired France's territory. Including the current day states of Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska; parts of Minnesota that were west of the Mississippi River; parts of North Dakota; some of South Dakota; northeastern New Mexico; northern Texas; parts of Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado east of the Continental Divide; Louisiana; and small portions of land in Canada. -
British Cession
This was known as the Treaty of 1818. The United States gained parts of land in the Northwestern parts of Minnisota and the Northeasten parts of North Dakota. -
Adams-Onis
This was a treaty (also known as The Transcontinental Treaty or the Purchase of Florida, Florida Treaty,or the Treaty of 1819) that gave West Florida to the U.S. and set out a boundary between the U.S. and Mexico. -
Texas Annexation
