One of the crises of the Middle Ages, the Western Schism was a conflict among three popes trying to take control over the Catholic Church. This conflict lasted almost 40 years. -

Christopher Columbus was a Spanish explorer. Columbus and his crew discovered South and Central America. With this exploration, they found great wealth. However, this exploration also caused the great dying which was the death of many Native Americans who died because of new illness and murder by the Spanish. -

The Protestant Reformation was the result of Martin Luther's thesis posted on the door of the Roman Catholic Church. This reformation ended in denominations that were competing. -

Martin Luther
Martin Luther was a monk who protested then Roman Catholic Church and their beliefs. In 1517 he posted his thesis on the door of the church containing his theory of the Bible and the means for salvation.
